Detroit, MI- Tim Krynicki’s award winning film “Selitoya” will be premiering at Cinema D: Detroit Film Festival on July 27, at the Campus Martius.

Under the direction of Tim Krynicki, the highly stylized “Selitoya” stars Lamar Babi as Tommy, the neighborhood runt who does dirty work for local crime boss Tino, played by Wayne State Professor Mike Maguire. Tino asks Tommy to pull a job, but this time, it goes against everything Tommy believes in. The Wayne State graduate took first place in the Narrative selection of Wayne State’s Moving Media Festival, 2007.

This free event takes place every fourth Friday during the summer months. It showcases local filmmakers and other local talents. “I think it’s great that Detroit recognizes the great local filmmakers and supports each by showcasing their works,” says Krynicki. “It’s great to know that people are out there filming and have Cinema D as a showcase.”

“Selitoya” will be joined by other local artists and films starting and will start at 11 p.m. The cast and crew will be on hand during the event to answer questions. For further information, please visit http://www.theworldiscoming.com/4thFridayswithFord.html.

Selitoya to be shown in Detroit

Posted in Premiers/Showings, Updates on May 17th, 2007 by knemonic

Hello Everyone,

There is a great possibility this saturday that Selitoya (if the judges liked it) will be shown at the Wayne State Moving Media festival. This year, they are doing things a little different, they won’t announce which films that have been placed in advance. Meaning, we won’t know if the film will be shown saturday until that night. So regardless, come see all of the great films, including Aria’s Buried Man and his possible latest film from director’s workshop and many more hopefully. For more info, http://comm.wayne.edu/movingmedia.php

Also, I dont have an official date yet, but Ford Motor Company hosts this event in detroit called Cinema D: The Detroit Film Festival where they will be showing Selitoya. The dates are changing since I requested the film not be shown in June since I will be in New York, so hopefully I will know soon the date. It used to be called Forth Friday Films which was thrown at campus martius in downtown. It sounds like it is going to be an even bigger event this year so keep an eye out in the papers and hopefully I will have a date for you all soon. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2007704260428

Also, I am hoping this weekend I will have the entire film Selitoya, possibly including Aria’s Buried Man and Danny’s Paper Boy posted on my site for your viewing pleasure.
